Job summary

AFI group of companies in Caldicot is seeking a MEWPS Engineer to carry out PDIs, servicing, LOLER inspections, and repairs on our fleet of rental machines. You will attend breakdowns on customer sites and document checks using a PDA, while collaborating with the engineering team to ensure maximum machine availability.

Ideal candidates hold an engineering qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent), are proficient with electro/hydraulic systems, and have fault-finding/diagnostics experience.

• Competent in electro/hydraulic systems and fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Ability to communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.

MEWPS Engineer - Caldicot

About the Role

Role OverviewIn brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

Requirements

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) - minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
• A valid CAP licence would be desirable.
