Job summary

AFI group of companies is seeking a MEWPS Engineer to carry out pre-delivery inspections, services, LOLER inspections, repairs and updates while maintaining the fleet image of our rental machines.

The role involves attending breakdowns on customer sites, recording checks on a company PDA, and clear communication with the engineering team and hire office to ensure maximum machine availability.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification (NVQ level 2 or equivalent).
• Competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• Experience in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• Professional communication with customers and colleagues.
• IPAF Operator licence/certification required.
• CAP licence desirable.

About the Role

In brief, the position of MEWPS Engineer involves:

• Carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, LOLER inspections, repairs, and manufacturer updates, and maintaining the corporate image of our fleet of rental machines.
• Attending breakdowns on customer sites.
• Accurately recording all necessary checks using a company-issued PDA, following company procedure at all times.
• Communicating effectively with the engineering team and hire office to make sure that the depot maintains maximum machine availability.

Requirements

• You must hold an engineering qualification (ideally in plant maintenance) - minimum NVQ level 2 or equivalent.
• Be competent in electro/hydraulic systems.
• You will be experienced in fault-finding/diagnostics.
• You will be working closely with customers and colleagues, so you must be able to communicate professionally.
• You must be able to prioritise tasks in an ever-changing, demanding hire environment.
• A valid IPAF Operator licence/certification is required.
• A valid CAP licence would be desirable.
