Job summary

Ipsum Power, based in Carnforth, is seeking an Operations Manager to lead a portfolio of power/utility projects. You will ensure safe, compliant delivery, driving efficiency and quality while planning resources and opportunities for growth.

Key duties include safety leadership, site inspections, progress reporting, and collaboration with clients to meet timelines and budgets. Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and subcontractor management is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in Power/Utilities operations is essential.
• Experience delivering work requiring deep excavation, temporary works, cable installation, cable jointing, and OHL works.
• Solid knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation and technical advances.
• Commercial/contractual awareness including NEC forms.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all work is delivered safely with strong safety leadership.
• Hold regular H&S meetings and deliver safety information and toolbox talks.
• Conduct site inspections and ensure quality and ITPs are completed.
• Drive training and development with HR and Contract Director.
• Collaborate with client and staff to meet deadlines and budgets.
• Hold monthly team meetings and cascade management information.
• Carry out staff appraisals and assess project delivery personnel.
• Drive profit while controlling direct and indirect costs.
• Support recruitment in line with Ipsum policy and operating model.
• Ensure policies are followed and financial reporting to Contract Director is accurate.
• Schedule resources effectively for project delivery.
• Promote core values and ensure standards are embedded in the team.
• Operate within financial delegated authority limits.
