Job summary

Capgemini in Bristol is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to carry out specialist electrical network studies supporting decarbonisation and heat pump integration projects. You will assess the impact of increased electrical demand on existing infrastructure, providing technical analysis and recommendations to ensure network reliability and compliance.

The role requires experience with HV network design and industry-standard modelling tools (ETAP, DIgSILENT).

Qualifications

• Specialist background in power systems engineering.
• Experience assessing and designing HV electrical networks.
• Knowledge of grid connections and power system analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform power system studies and network modelling using industry-standard software.
• Conduct network assessments including harmonics, protection coordination, and voltage studies.
• Review transformer loading, network capacity, earthing, and lightning protection requirements.
• Develop recommendations to support safe and efficient network upgrades.
