Job summary

Capgemini is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to carry out specialist electrical studies for decarbonisation and heat pump integration. You will assess the impact of increased demand on infrastructure and provide technical analysis to ensure reliability and compliance.

The role involves power system studies, network modelling, harmonics analysis, protection coordination, and grid connection reviews, based in Bristol with a 2–3 day in-office pattern.

Qualifications

  • Specialist background in power systems engineering, with experience assessing HV network design.
  • Proficiency with network modelling tools (ETAP, DIgSILENT) and grid connection knowledge.
  • Strong understanding of grid connections, power system performance, and electrical infrastructure requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power system studies and network modelling using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct network assessments, including harmonics, protection coordination, and voltage studies.
  • Review transformer loading, network capacity, earthing, and lightning protection requirements.
  • Develop recommendations to support safe and efficient network upgrades.
