The Role: Senior R&D Power System Consultant

You will work closely with R&D and operational teams to support new product development by applying power systems modelling, signal processing, machine learning, and analysis techniques to ensure successful delivery of new and existing products.

You will have technical project ownership while implementing new technologies related to power system monitoring and operations.

You will interface with TSOs and DNOs to ensure products and services are relevant and effective.

Attributes

• Hands-on experience in power system modelling and dynamic simulations (e.g., DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD, PSS/e).
• Deep knowledge of grid challenges related to the net-zero transition and renewable energy integration, including low inertia, system strength issues, and oscillations.
• Technical expertise in power system stability challenges and mitigation solutions.
• Experience in grid, utility, or energy services, including scoping, delivery, or operations.
• Programming skills (Python, MATLAB, etc.) are advantageous.
• Experience in costing, tendering, and delivering technical presentations at conferences.
• Knowledge of SCADA, data protocols, and secondary plant configuration.
