Job summary

ARM Recruitment Partner Energy Division is recruiting multiple PowerOn Reliance SCADA Engineers for a major UK energy sector programme. Location: Wokingham with Hybrid pattern; 2–3 days per week in Wokingham and the remainder remote within the UK.

Active SC Clearance required for hybrid working. You will provide expert technical support across SCADA and EMS, focusing on system implementation, configuration, integration and comprehensive testing.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience with GE PowerOn Reliance SCADA (PoR).
• Experience within Transmission SCADA or electricity network environments.
• Experience configuring SCADA for simulation and data-flow testing.
• Knowledge of PoR components including Application Server, Database Server, FEP, Historian, DPF and Proxy Server.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert services across GE PowerOn Reliance SCADA/EMS.
• Configure, validate and test SCADA and EMS functionality and integrations.
• Develop test scenarios, test cases and test scripts.
• Review functional designs and ensure requirements are fully tested.
• Collaborate with SCADA SMEs, Product Owners, developers and testers.
• Support end-to-end system integration testing.
• Identify and manage defects, risks and issues.
• Maintain manual and automated test scripts.
• Track testing progress using JIRA/XRAY.
• Support system transition and wider project activities.

Rate: £510 per day

The Role

The Energy Division at ARM Recruitment Partner is recruiting multiple PowerOn Reliance SCADA Engineers for a major UK energy sector programme.

You will provide expert technical support across SCADA and EMS, focusing on system implementation, configuration, integration and comprehensive testing.

You will work with customers, system integrators and internal teams to ensure systems meet operational, technical and industry requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide expert services across GE PowerOn Reliance SCADA/EMS.
• Configure, validate and test SCADA and EMS functionality and integrations.
• Develop test scenarios, test cases and test scripts.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with GE PowerOn Reliance (PoR) SCADA.
• Experience within Transmission SCADA or electricity network environments.
• Strong SCADA and EMS configuration experience.
• Experience with Group Telecontrol, Automation, System Tracing, Symbol Design and Alarm Configuration.
• Experience integrating PoR with external applications and enterprise systems.
• Experience configuring SCADA for simulation and data-flow testing.
• Knowledge of PoR components including Application Server, Database Server, FEP, Historian, DPF and Proxy Server.
• Understanding of PoR cartography, network modelling and topology.
• Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux environments.
• Knowledge of IT/OT cybersecurity.
• Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases and acceptance testing.
• Knowledge of IEC 101, IEC 104, IEC 61850 and GI 74.
• Experience working within Agile/Scrum environments.
• Experience using JIRA/XRAY or similar tools.
• Strong understanding of electricity network operations and the utility sector.

Desirable

• Strong client-facing and stakeholder management experience.
• Experience working with Product Owners, Development, Testing and Implementation teams.
• Agile project delivery experience.
• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years' experience across SCADA implementation, integration, testing and technical consulting.

Security Clearance

Hybrid candidates must hold active SC clearance.

Remote working is only permitted from within UK sovereign territory, as secure equipment cannot be taken overseas.
