Job summary

Arm Limited is seeking a highly skilled Power Intent / UPF Engineer to join our Solutions Engineering team. You will help ensure power efficiency and performance of our compute solutions and shape design flows and EDA tool integration.

You will define UPF specifications, maintain UPF across hierarchical domains, and assess PDN tradeoffs to optimize power and performance. Hybrid working and strong collaboration are key to success.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Solid understanding of power intent concepts, including voltage islands, power domains, power states, and power control architectures.
  • Proficiency in UPF 2.0/2.1/3.0/3.1 (Unified Power Format) and experience in low power formal verification.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Proven track record with power intent definition and verification.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to define and implement power intent specifications for System-on-Chip (SoC) designs.
  • Produce, maintain and validate complex UPF files to describe power domains, states, retention strategies, level shifters and isolation across hierarchical domains.
  • Investigate tradeoffs within the Power Domain Network (PDN) and power distribution for power intent.
  • Enable our partners to achieve the best possible quality of results.
