Located in Titchfield, Hampshire, Eaton's Aerospace business stands as a global leader in aerospace fuel systems. We pride ourselves as a premier supplier of fully integrated fuel systems for fixed and rotary-wing aircraft. The Titchfield facility boasts extensive fuel and air system test facilities, facilitating comprehensive testing across a range of conditions with various fuel types.

What you'll do:

Currently, we are searching for a Chief Engineer - Power Electronics for the Power Electronics (PE) Center of Excellence (CoE). The PE CoE at Eaton drives innovation by creating scalable, cost-effective, and manufacturable power electronics technology, platforms, and standardized design methodologies, enabling rapid product development across business units.

This individual will provide technical leadership, shape major project changes, and offer authoritative insights and decisions for projects or programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Perform design, modeling, simulation, and implementation of power electronics solutions for power conversion and protection.
  2. Develop technical requirements and create reports and presentations.
  3. Own technical leadership, collaborating with multi-disciplinary, multicultural, globally distributed teams, providing technical direction.
  4. Guide and mentor other PE engineers to enhance their skills and experience.
  5. Support the development of PE CoE strategy, direction, and priorities.
  6. Assist in crafting technology roadmaps, project pipelines, detailed plans, and value propositions with the Global PE CoE director and BU engineering leaders.
  7. Promote engineering excellence within the PE CoE and BUs teams.
  8. Stay updated on the latest power electronics technologies and trends, applying this knowledge to power conversion and protection, and identifying new opportunities.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in power electronics design, product development, and qualification.
  • At least 5 years in a technical leadership role.
  • Proven technical capability and leadership skills.
  • Extensive knowledge of power electronics topologies, circuits, thermal management, and magnetics.
  • Customer-oriented with strong relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to acquire new skills, knowledge, and industry insights.
Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience in power electronics for safety-critical applications, especially in aerospace.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards, including Military (MIL) standards.
  • Experience working with global teams and customers in diverse cultural contexts.
