Lead Power Electronics Engineer, Fareham

Saab UK, part of Scandinavia's largest defence company, offers innovative solutions in defence, aviation, space, and civil security. With over 500 employees across the UK, Saab UK specializes in software engineering, underwater robotics, radars, AI, and armed forces training.

We are seeking a motivated Lead Power Electronics Engineer to join our Seaeye Under Water Robotics Business Unit. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of powertrain architectures, power distribution systems, and experience with power supply topologies. Familiarity with wide-bandgap semiconductors like SiC and GaN is a plus.

Responsibilities include:

1. Designing electronics from concept through to production
2. Developing power supply systems including AD-DC, DC-DC, and inversion
3. Working with topologies such as Phase-Shift Full-Bridge, Resonant LLC, Flyback, Buck/Boost, and 3-Phase Inverter
4. Managing project activities and coordinating across departments

Qualifications include experience with power switching devices, gate-drive circuitry, high-frequency transformer design, thermal management, modeling and simulation, digital and analogue design, and compliance standards. Knowledge of motor control and embedded systems is also desirable.
