Job summary

Princes Group in Liverpool is seeking a Power BI Developer to join our Head Office at the Royal Liver Building. You will design and develop Power BI dashboards, collaborate with business analysts and data engineers, and create scalable tools using the Microsoft Power Platform.

Hybrid working model with a 8:45-17:00 schedule and Fridays from home. You will contribute to user-centered designs and ensure data accuracy while supporting continuous improvement across finance and operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in a related field (HCI, Interaction Design, CS, etc.).
  • Proven experience as UX Designer or similar role with a strong portfolio.
  • Proficiency with design tools: Adobe XD, Sketch, Figma.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Power Platform: Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate.

Responsibilities

  • Design and create user interfaces, wireframes, and prototypes prioritising user experience and business goals.
  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and feedback sessions to guide iterative design improvements.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define user personas and ensure designs meet diverse needs.
  • Utilise Power Platform components (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate) to design scalable business applications.
  • Customize and extend Power Apps functionality to meet business requirements.
  • Create and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports for data visualization.
  • Implement automated workflows using Power Automate to streamline processes.
  • Communicate design concepts effectively to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Provide guidance on UI design best practices and Power Platform usage.

Job Purpose

You will be instrumental in enhancing the usability, accessibility, and overall user satisfaction of our digital solutions. Your responsibilities will span across designing intuitive user interfaces, optimizing user journeys, and leveraging Microsoft Power Platform tools to create efficient and scalable business tools. You will need to collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, functional managers and data engineers, to create user-centric experiences and streamline business processes.

This is a Monday - Friday 08.45 - 17.00 position with Fridays from home.

Dimensions
  • User Experience (UX): have a strong understanding of how people interact with tools and data and translate that into how best to design new tools. This includes understanding UX techniques and approaches to maximise the effectiveness of digital tools built for the business.
  • Collaboration skills: The ability to work with users from a wide range of backgrounds to understand their needs and translate that into a visual prototype. Expectation management is key through understanding the constraints of available tools and the ability to deliver on scoped designs.
  • Technical skills: have experience with the Microsoft Power Platform (PowerBI, PowerApps and PowerAutomate), as well as prototyping tools such as Figma.
  • Business acumen: have an understanding of the business and its strategic goals. Able to understand the key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics that are important to the business and be able to build calculations and visualizations to measure progress towards those goals.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving: must be able to think critically and design solutions that address key business problems.
  • Attention to detail: have a keen eye for detail and be able to identify anomalies and inconsistencies in data. They should be able to ensure that data is accurate and free from errors before using it to make decisions.
  • Continuous learning: Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX design and Microsoft Power Platform.

  • Experience with SAP solutions such as SAP BW, SAP ECC or SAP Datasphere is a plus.
