Job summary

The JRL Group's McMullen Facades division is seeking a Powder Coating Operative to join the team in Nottingham. This permanent PAYE role offers ongoing work in a fast-paced metal finishing environment, with early start times and overtime opportunities.

You will prepare metal components, apply powder coatings, and perform quality checks to meet standards such as thickness and adhesion. Experience with GEMA systems is preferred, and high-quality workmanship is essential.

Qualifications

• Previous spraying experience (paint or powder coating).
• Knowledge of GEMA powder coating systems preferred.
• Understanding of quality testing (thickness, gloss).
• Able to meet high-quality standards (e.g., Qualicoat).

Responsibilities

• Prepare metal components (cleaning, masking, pretreatment).
• Apply powder coatings using manual/auto equipment.
• Check coatings meet thickness and adhesion specs.
• Perform quality checks throughout the process.
• Monitor curing oven settings and cycles.
• Manage colour changeovers efficiently.
• Identify and resolve coating defects.
