Job summary

Leeds Galvanising & Powder Coating Ltd is seeking a hands-on operative to apply powder coatings and paint finishes to metal parts in a busy North of England plant. You will prepare surfaces, select powders, and spray to specification, working within ISO9001 and EN13438:2005 standards.

The role offers training if needed, with overtime paid and a pension scheme. Weekly pay, 28 days holiday, and PPE provided support a stable, team-based environment.

Leeds Galvanising & Powder Coating Ltd was f ounded over 20 years ago. We have grown from one of the smallest galvanisers in the country to the largest galvanising and powder coating plant in the North of England. We serve our customers by collecting steel products for galvanising and powder coating anddelivering the exceptionally finished product back to them with the highest customer service and maintaining our reputation as one of the leading providers.

What is the Job Role?

• Follow work instructions from orders and production/running lists.
• Contribute to team performance by achievement of targets.
• Preparing equipment and selecting the correct paint powders and gloss levels to meet specification.
• Prepare surfaces to apply powder coating in accordance with Company, ISO9001 and EN13438:2005 standards.
• Apply powder coating to various metals and materials using manual and auto spray guns.
• Use spray gun and apply paint to specification.
• Perform colour changes ensuring correct thickness and gloss levels .
• Use of hand tools for finishing of product.
• Packaging of finished product.
• Shot blasting various parts to the required standard .
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times.

Who are we looking for?

The successful candidates will be part of a small team and must be able to work to the required targets and highest standards. Experience of spray painting or powder coating is desirable, however, training is available if required. Automatic booth experience is also desirable.

Please note that on occasion you may be asked to work in our galvanising section, for which training will be provided.

What can we offer?

• £13.50 per hour start rate
• Weekly pay.
• Monday to Thursday, 05.00 to 15.30; 40 hours per week.
• Overtime available, paid at time and a half.
• 28 days paid holidays (224 hours), including bank holidays.
• Holidays increase with service to a maximum of 25 days plus bank holidays.
