Job summary

Osborne Appointments is recruiting a Powder Coater Supervisor for a busy manufacturing site in Hertfordshire. You will supervise the powder coating line, coordinate the Paint Line team with Production Management, and drive production targets.

The role requires hands-on spray capability, strong leadership of 4–5 operatives, a focus on safety and quality, and a willingness to train staff and implement improvements.

Qualifications

• Proven experience on a powder coating line with spray capability.
• Knowledge of Gema equipment and powder coating processes.
• Health & Safety qualifications (desirable).
• First Aid at Work certification (beneficial).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with workshop machinery and tools.
• Ability to learn new skills and support continuous improvement.

Location: Buntingford, Hertfordshire.

Hours: Full time

Salary: £16.00ph-£19.00ph

Duties of a Powder Coater Supervisor:

• Act as the primary point of contact between the Paint Line team and Production Management.
• Lead, motivate, and coach team members to achieve departmental objectives.
• Set clear daily/weekly/monthly goals and communicate expectations effectively.
• Mentor team members, support their development, and identify training needs.
• Conduct performance reviews and support staff welfare and engagement.
• Organise and allocate tasks to a team of approximately 4-5 operatives.

What we would like from you:

• Proven experience working on a powder coating line, including the ability to spray.
• Knowledge of Gema equipment and strong understanding of powder coating processes.
• Manual Handling and Health & Safety qualifications (desirable).
• First Aid at Work certification (beneficial).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Competent in using basic workshop machinery and tools.
• Experience in workshop or manual fabrication environments.
• Ability to learn new skills, adapt to new production methods, and support continuous improvement.
