Job summary

Avara Foods Limited in Hereford is seeking a Poultry Worker to support flock welfare and farm operations at our Hereford breeder laying site. The role includes weekend shifts, with duties spanning bird care, egg handling, and basic farm tasks in poultry houses.

The position offers weekly pay (£12.71 per hour), guaranteed hours with overtime opportunities, and on-site parking. Training starts from day one, with career development potential within our integrated poultry operation.

Qualifications

• Experience in agriculture or a similar role.
• Manual handling training completed or willing to be trained.
• Poultry welfare certificate/NVQ Level 2 desirable; full training offered.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in poultry houses, walking sheds and handling chickens.
• Collect, screen and pack eggs onto trays, including paperwork.
• Look after bird welfare including feeding.
• General farm duties such as ground maintenance and equipment use.
