Qualifications

• Strong hands-on PostgreSQL experience in production environments.
• Excellent SQL skills and practical query optimisation.
• Experience with indexes, execution plans and relational data modelling.

Responsibilities

• Reviewing and improving PostgreSQL schemas, indexes and SQL queries.
• Investigating slow queries using plans, stats, logs and monitoring.
• Optimising joins and data-access patterns.
• Collaborating with developers to improve database design before new features.
• Designing views and materialised views where appropriate.
• Planning safe schema changes and data migrations.
• Monitoring database performance and storage growth.
• Working with DevOps on monitoring, backup and recovery.
• Establishing database standards across engineering team.
