Job summary

Atos is seeking a PostgreSQL database administrator with strong data modelling skills to join our team. You will own the core Postgres data store, ensure maintenance and performance, and work closely with developers to shape the data model for new feeds.

The role offers a hybrid work model with 2 days in the office and focuses on securing data, tuning queries, and coordinating changes across cloud and on‑prem environments.

Qualifications

• Strong PostgreSQL database management skills and performance optimisation.
• Experience with clustering, failover strategies and backups.
• Proficiency in data modelling, schemas, tables and views.
• Familiarity with JSON storage in PostgreSQL and related best practices.
• Ability to work with developers to define data model requirements.
• Experience with Oracle or MSSQL is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Take responsibility for the Postgres database cluster across environments.
• Monitor and tune PostgreSQL performance across cloud and on‑prem.
• Migrate data structures across instances, including offline environments.
• Own data models and lifecycle of data in the Postgres store.
• Collaborate with data engineers and scientists to ingest diverse data sources.
• Define security roles, permissions and RLS controls across environments.
• Coordinate installation and patching with the infrastructure team.
