Job summary

City St George’s, University of London invites a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to design, develop, test and validate timber-based prefabricated modular elements for a major Horizon Europe renovation project. The successful candidate will focus on wooden structural frameworks for prefabricated modular renovation in existing buildings.

You will work with academic and industrial partners, contribute to design, modelling, fire safety and sustainability assessments, documentation,

Qualifications

• PhD in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related discipline with strong modelling experience.
• Experience in timber, modular or offsite construction and European-funded research is advantageous.
• Ability to conduct experimental research, data analysis and technical reporting.

Responsibilities

• R&D of timber systems for prefabricated modular renovation elements and structural frameworks.
• Support design, optimisation, testing, validation and compliance with European standards.
• Collaborate with academic and industrial partners and contribute to Horizon Europe project delivery.
