About the Morgan Group

The Morgan group studies meiotic recombination mechanisms, including crossover interference, using advanced imaging, genetics, genomics, and biochemistry in Arabidopsis and wheat. We collaborate with other disciplines to answer complex biological questions, as exemplified in Morgan et al. 2021, Nat Comms 12, 4674.

The Role

The successful candidate will study the biochemistry of meiotic recombination proteins in Arabidopsis, focusing on activity, targets, and oligomerisation properties to address key questions about crossover formation.

The Ideal Candidate

The candidate will use microscopy, molecular biology, and genetics to investigate the spatiotemporal localization and dynamics of recombination machinery, employing live-imaging, super-resolution microscopy, and genetic dissection techniques.
