Job summary

1000scholars invites applications for a research role in the Innovate UK funded CoRe-SoLiS project within the Department of Materials, Rex Richards Building, Oxford. The post reports to Prof.

Mauro Pasta and requires a PhD/DPhil in Materials Science or Chemistry (or near completion), plus relevant solid-state battery experience. You will conduct mechanical and microstructural characterisation of ceramic materials, metallurgy of air-sensitive alloys, and use solid-state NMR, FIB, and synchrotron

Qualifications

  • PhD in Materials Science or Chemistry or near completion.
  • First-class bachelor’s or master’s in Materials Science or Chemistry.
  • Experience in solid-state batteries and related techniques.
  • Excellent publication record and ability to publish, present proposals, and represent the group.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the CoRe-SoLiS project under Prof. Mauro Pasta.
  • Manage own research and administrative activities with minimal supervision.
  • Publish results and present at meetings.
