A leading research university in Greater London is seeking a skilled individual to work on the commercialisation of research-led monitoring and reporting services for nature recovery. The role requires a PhD and expertise in geomatics, remote sensing, and spatial analysis, along with experience in developing automated processing methods. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with various partners and contribute to innovative solutions in environmental research.
The role will work on a project focusing on the commericalisation of research-led monitoring, reporting and verification services for nature-based solutions.
The role will involve development and testing of an MRV customer solution for the nature recovery sector working in partnership with commercial, local government and third sector partners. This will include contributing to a problem-solution fit project in collaboration with QM Innovation and external consultants; R&D work on technical workflows and automation for remote sensing approaches to facilitate scaling of nature-based solutions monitoring, reporting and verification; and development of data and analysis products for clients. All of these elements will involve client and sector engagement.
You will have a PhD in the relevant subject area for the research and innovation project and relevant knowledge and experience in geomatics, remote sensing methods (including UAV lidar, satellite and photogrammetry) and spatial analysis including terrain and vegetation structural modelling. Relevant knowledge and experience in development of automated processing methods and workflows for environmental and geospatial data is also essential.
