Job summary

University of Edinburgh seeks a PDRA to work in nuclear astrophysics under Prof. Marialuisa Aliotta, contributing to ERC Advanced Grant research.

You will develop and apply R-matrix analyses to experimental data and provide global fits while collaborating with DR James deBoer and the PI's team. The role requires a strong experimental background, extensive publications, and leadership, with duties including co-supervision of students, potential overseas field trips, and regular collaboration

Qualifications

• Strong background in experimental nuclear astrophysics, especially in underground laboratories.
• Excellent academic track record with publications and leadership.
• Experience co-supervising research students and contributing to project delivery.
• Willingness to travel for fieldwork and participate in collaboration meetings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct research in nuclear astrophysics within the group of Prof. Marialuisa Aliotta.
• Develop and apply R-matrix evaluations of experimental data on astrophysical reactions.
• Provide global fits of experimental data and contribute to astrophysical reaction-rate evaluations.
• Co-supervise graduate and undergraduate students and participate in project planning.
