Job summary

About The Role

Postdoctoral Research Associate

This part-time (0.2 FTE) post is immediately available. This post is offered as a fixed term contract and is funded by Sport England/ipsos until 29 February 2028. In line with the University’s fair employment for all principles, any further funding opportunities identified will be reviewed and discussed during the contract.

Salary will be £34,610 (pro rata) on Grade E subject to knowledge, skills and experience.

The Faculty wishes to recruit a Postdoctoral Research Associate to support the work of Dr Lisa Price. The successful applicant will assist in establishing the feasibility of embedding objective physical activity measurement into the current national physical activity surveillance programme. The post will include liaising with schools and active partners, collaborating with external partners, delivering remote physical activity monitoring to schools, data management, producing funder reports and academic dissemination material.

About You

The successful applicant will be able to present information on research progress and outcomes, communicate complex information, orally, in writing and electronically and prepare proposals and applications to external bodies. Applicants will possess a relevant PhD (or nearing completion) or possess an equivalent qualification/experience in a related field of study and be able to demonstrate sufficient knowledge in the discipline and of research methods and techniques to work within established research programmes. Applicants will be able demonstrate knowledge and experience of physical activity measurement methods in children and adolescents, and have experience of undertaking research in collaboration with schools.
