Job summary

The Institute of Cancer Research (ICR) in Sutton is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Training Fellow to contribute to the Boomer project, combining molecular genomics and bioinformatics. This fixed-term role supports cutting-edge analyses of archival tumours to understand colorectal cancer trends and potential prevention strategies.

The successful candidate will lead data generation, perform multi-omics analyses, and work within an interdisciplinary team under Professor Trevor Graham.

Qualifications

• PhD in molecular biology, bioinformatics or other relevant area.
• Appropriate publication record for level of experience
• Good communication, observation and time-management skills, and the ability to interact effectively with other team members in a highly interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the data generation of the Boomer project and contribute to experimental workflows.
• Perform molecular genomic analyses on archival tumours from the 1950s to present day.
• Investigate mutational landscape and microbiome changes over decades.
• Apply novel computational tools to infer tumour age and growth rate and study patterns related to early-onset colorectal cancer.
