Durham University’s Department of Engineering invites applications for a Post‑doctoral Research Associate in Polymer Chemistry focusing on Structural Power (SPCs) within the EleComp EPSRC Programme Grant. Qualifications

  • Good first degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Polymer science.
  • PhD or near submission in Chemistry/Polymer science is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Convey highly technical material to the team through presentations and discussions.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations on research outputs to diverse audiences.
  • Publish high quality outputs and contribute to peer‑reviewed journals.
  • Assist with development of research objectives and proposals.
  • Conduct independent and collaborative research under supervision.
  • Identify research areas and develop new methods to extend projects.
  • Engage with internal and external contacts to support collaboration.
  • Plan and manage own research activity and resources.
  • Deliver training in research techniques to peers and students.
  • Contribute to student supervision and assessment.
