University of Nottingham is seeking a researcher in quantum information and entanglement theory to work with Professor Gerardo Adesso on an EPSRC/NSF-funded project at University Park, Nottingham. The role focuses on identifying and quantifying entanglement from experiments and theoretical modelling of open quantum systems.

The post involves developing methods, publishing results, and coordinating UK/US collaborative efforts, with a fixed-term 24-month contract starting 01 January 2027.

Qualificações

• PhD or near completion in mathematics, physics or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of quantum information theory and quantum entanglement.
• Experience in theoretical or mathematical research with publications.
• Ability to develop and apply analytical or computational methods.
• Excellent oral and written communication, able to present to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and meet deadlines, and collaborate across institutions.

Responsabilidades

• Undertake original research of international excellence in quantum information and entanglement theory.
• Develop objectives and proposals for own and collaborative research.
• Prepare papers for publication and present at conferences and meetings.
• Identify opportunities and assist in writing bids for research grants.
• Provide support and supervision to staff and junior team members.
• Coordinate project meetings and resources across UK and US teams.
