Job summary

The Global Systems Institute, University of Exeter, invites applications for a full-time, ESA-funded Postdoctoral Research Fellow. The appointment is fixed-term from 01.10.2026 to 13.01.2028 and based in Exeter, United Kingdom.

The role spans two ESA projects (PREDICT 80%, EO4TIPP 20%), focusing on Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation monitoring, spaceborne observation, and community engagement; you will analyse large climate datasets and contribute to reports and publications.

Responsibilities

• Analysing large environmental/climate datasets to detect precursors and gain understanding of tipping dynamics.
• Contributing to project management, including timeline tracking and coordination with project partners and funders.
• Preparing progress reports and deliverables for both projects.
• Reviewing and synthesising scientific literature on AMOC tipping dynamics for project deliverables.
• Supporting community consultation activities (surveys, workshops) related to AMOC monitoring.
• Co-authoring peer‑reviewed publications and presenting findings at conferences and project meetings.
• Collaborating with the wider project teams across both funded projects.
