Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant quantitative discipline (awarded or expected within 6 months).
• Strong programming skills in Python and experience with modern deep learning frameworks.
• Experience with large-scale model training, GPU/HPC/cloud computing environments, Linux, and version control.
• Ability to develop novel AI algorithms and publish high-quality research.

Responsibilities

• Develop foundation models for biological discovery within EI's AI for Biology Group.
• Create novel AI methods for pretraining, post-training, adaptation and evaluation of foundation models.
• Focus on multimodal, cross-organism models and AI-guided design-build-test-learn workflows.
• Collaborate across EI to enable reproducible research and open benchmarks.
