Job description

Parcel Delivery Driver

Are you ready to deliver a difference? Royal Mail is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals for temporary postal and delivery driver positions. If you have a passion for community service and love being on the move, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Location: Tavistock

Shift: Working 5 days between Monday – Sunday. Please note this position involves weekend working and it’s vital you can commit to this.

Hours: 30 hrs per week with varying start/finish times depending on site. 07:00am – 19:00pm.

Hourly Rate: £13.37 basic rate (additional rate for overtime)

About the role

You’ll start your day in the local delivery office, loading the mail for your route, before setting out on foot or in a provided van to complete your parcel/mail round. You’ll be given a hand-held computer device to capture customer signatures for deliveries. Each round usually takes around four hours to complete. The device will also act as your routing system, optimizing your route for efficiency.

About You

Upbeat and self-motivated, you’ll be comfortable working alone or as part of a team and getting to know different people on your round. You’ll have a strong sense of community, and the flexible working patterns will appeal to you.

You will deliver post/parcels come rain or shine, so we’re looking for people who enjoy being outdoors regardless of the weather. This role is also a great way to keep fit.

Some experience in a customer-facing role would be ideal.

Requirements:

• A full UK manual driving licence required (in your current UK address), with no more than six penalty points. A clean licence is preferred.
• Right to work ID – Passport in current name or original birth certificate
• Proof of current home address – Bank statement or utility bill issued in the last three months
• Proof of NI number
