Are you ready to deliver a difference? Royal Mail is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals for temporary postal and delivery driver positions. If you have a passion for community service and love being on the move, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Location: Plymouth - Plymstock, Plympton and West Park

Shift: Working 5 days between Monday – Sunday. Please note this position involves weekend working and it's vital you can commit to this.

Hours: 30-35 hrs per week with varying start/finish times depending on site.

Hourly Rate: £13.37 basic rate (additional rate for overtime)

About the role

You’ll start your day in the local delivery office, loading the mail for your route, before setting out on foot or in a provided van to complete your parcel/mail round. Each delivery will be captured using a hand-held computer device to obtain customer signatures. The device will also help plan the most economical route for your round, which usually takes around four hours to complete.

About You

Upbeat and self-motivated, you’ll be comfortable working alone and as part of a team, engaging with different people on your round. You’ll value community and enjoy flexible working patterns. You should be prepared to deliver post/parcels in all weather conditions and enjoy outdoor activity, which can help you stay fit. Some experience in a customer-facing role would be advantageous.

Requirements:

• A full UK manual driving licence required (in your current UK address), with no more than six penalty points; a clean licence is preferred.
• Right to work ID – Passport in current name or original birth certificate
• Proof of current home address – Bank statement or utility bill issued in the last three months
• Proof of NI number
