Job summary

Royal Mail Group in London’s Walthamstow area is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term contract for 9 months. You’ll work a rotating shifts pattern, delivering letters and parcels in your local area from a Royal Mail van and on foot. Training is provided and overtime is paid where available.

Responsibilities include delivering to households, building customer relationships, and working outdoors in all weather. You will also be required to work Sundays on a rota basis.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence with up-to-date details and up to 6 penalty points.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.
• Customer-focused with pride in delivering great service.
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently.

Job type: Fixed Term contract - 9 months

Salary: £16.24 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 37:00hours per week - working (X) days in 7 across Monday - Sunday

  We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:
