Royal Mail in St Neots is hiring a Postie to deliver letters and parcels across the local area. You will walk long distances and, when required, drive a Royal Mail van on a rotating shift that includes weekends. The role is 37 hours per week.

We provide full training, a uniform, and a driving assessment. A full manual UK licence (max 6 penalty points) is required.

Location: St Neots Delivery Office, PE19 1AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 Months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 07:10/15:40*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at St Neots Delivery Office.

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
