Royal Mail in Biggleswade is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 9-month assignment. You will work 30 hours per week across 5 days in 7, including Sundays, delivering letters and parcels by van and on foot in the local area.

Training is provided and a classic red Royal Mail van is used daily. You will need a full manual UK driving licence, be willing to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.Working hours: 30hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 08:45/14:45*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at Biggleswade Delivery Office.

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
