Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Helston is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 9-month contract. You will sort mail, deliver by van and on foot, and build strong relationships with customers while working outdoors in all weather. The role includes a 37-hour week, some weekend shifts, and a 37:00 hour regime with a 7-day rotation.

You will receive full training, a uniform, and a red Royal Mail van. A full manual UK driving licence is required, plus ability to pass a driving assessment.

Location: Helston Delivery Office, TR13 8EE

Job type: Fixed Termcontract(9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 37:00hours per week - working5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 07:20/17:45*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
