Job summary

Royal Mail Halifax Delivery Office is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) to deliver letters and parcels in Halifax. This is a permanent, full-time role offering a 30-hour week on a rotating schedule across Monday to Sunday.

You’ll drive a Royal Mail van and deliver on foot, meeting customers along routes. Full training and a uniform are provided, with benefits including pension and wellbeing support.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting 10kg+ mailbags

Location: Halifax Delivery Office, HX1 1AA

Job type: Permanent contract

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 30:00 hours per week – working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday – 09:30/16:00*

What To Expect

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About You

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:
