Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Denny is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 9-month contract. The role involves 30 hours per week across a 7-day roster, including Sundays, with a 10:30am–4:30pm schedule and potential overtime. You’ll deliver letters and parcels in Denny and support the community.

Full training and a uniform are provided. A full manual UK driving licence is required, with the ability to handle long walking routes and heavy mailbags in all weather.

Qualifications

• Full manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit for long-distance walking, stairs/hills, and lifting 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable, self-motivated and capable of working outdoors and independently.
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment.

Job type: Fixed Term contract 9 Months

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 30:00hours per week - working 5days across 7 Monday - Sunday - 10:30am/16:30pm*

You’ll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You’ll be required to work Sundays at DennyDelivery Office.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
