Job summary

Royal Mail Group in Croydon is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) on a fixed-term 6-month contract. You will deliver letters and parcels in Croydon, working 30 hours per week across Monday to Sunday, 08:00–16:00, with some weekend shifts and a rotating schedule.

Full training is provided, including a uniform and a red Royal Mail van. You must hold a full manual UK driving licence and be physically fit to walk long distances.

Salary: £16.24 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available. Working hours: 30.00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 08:00/16:00

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)

About you

We’ll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You’ll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently

As a Postie, you're expected to securely deliver all items on your route, including handling and delivering election materials and certain items (such as food products or alcohol) in line with Royal Mail business standards.
