Royal Mail Group is hiring a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in West Bromwich. You will deliver letters and parcels in your local area, working outdoors in all weather, on a rotating schedule that includes weekends.

Training and a uniform are provided, with a Royal Mail van for daily use. The role requires a full manual UK driving licence (max 6 penalty points), the ability to pass a driving assessment, and physical fitness to cover long distances with mailbags.

Location: West Bromwich Delivery Office, B70 7RH

Job type: Fixed Term contract(12 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour* (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.
Working hours: 30:00 hours per week - working 5days in 7 across Monday - Sunday - 08:00/15:00*

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work Sundays at Coombs WoodDelivery Office.

What to expect

This role is physically demanding and fast-paced:

• Walking long distances (up to 12 miles / 20,000+ steps)
• Driving a Royal Mail van daily

• Busy, time-pressured days, especially during peak periods

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
