Job summary

Royal Mail is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) in Luton to deliver letters and parcels on a rotating shift schedule, including Sundays. You’ll work 35 hours per week across five days in seven, with duties that involve delivering by van and on foot, building customer relationships, and working outdoors in all weather.

Full training and a uniform are provided. A manual UK driving licence with up to 6 penalty points is required, along with the ability to pass a driving assessment and lift

Qualifications

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points) registered to your current name and address.
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment.
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs/hills, and lifting/carrying 10kg+ mailbags.
• Reliable and self-motivated with strong organisation and resilience.

Location: Luton Delivery Office, LU1 1AA

Job type: Fixed Term contract (9 months)

Salary: £13.68 per hour (paid monthly) + paid overtime available.

Working hours: 35.00 hours per week - working 5 days in 7 across Monday - Sunday

Monday - Saturday hours: 06:58 - 13:58 / 10:00 - 15:00 on rotational shift pattern to be confirmed by Hiring Manager

Sunday hours: 09:00 - 16:00
