Job summary

Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Nursing Associate for Ward 11, a 22-bed elective surgical ward that supports post-operative recovery. The role involves night duties with occasional day shifts and working alongside Registered Nurses and HCAs on an enhanced recovery pathway.

The successful candidate will hold an NMC Nursing Associate registration and a foundation degree, with GCSEs in Maths and English.

Qualifications

• Nursing Associate foundation degree completed.
• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above (or level 2 equivalent).
• Registration with NMC as a Nursing Associate is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-operative nursing care after major elective surgery.
• Take responsibility for an allocated group of patients within scope of practice.
• Undertake observations and monitor fluid balance, wounds, drains, catheters, nutrition, pain and mobility.
• Recognise deterioration and escalate promptly to the team.
• Support Enhanced Recovery After Surgery principles and early mobilisation.
