Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold valid NMC registration.
• Experience in postoperative care is advantageous.
• Good communication and teamwork skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality post-operative nursing care to elective surgery patients.
• Perform observations and monitor fluid balance, wounds, drains, catheters, nutrition, pain and mobility.
• Recognise deterioration and escalate concerns promptly.
• Support Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) principles and early mobilisation.
• Contribute to safe patient flow, discharge planning and infection prevention.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and MDT communication.
