A leading research group in the School of Human Development and Health is seeking a Research Fellow in Human Nutrition to conduct a systematic review on the effects of oral butyrate. Research Fellow in Human Nutrition
Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to join Professor Philip Calder’s research group in the School of Human Development and Health in the Faculty of Medicine. This is a limited time position to complete a systematic review.
You will have a PhD or equivalent professional qualification in Human Nutrition or a related discipline and experience of conducting systematic reviews. You should be highly motivated and capable of independently designing and carrying out a systematic review and meta-analysis as well as intellectually contributing to the project to achieve its goals in a timely manner. You should be interested in the interface between diet and health. Evidence of publishing in high-quality, peer-reviewed journals would be desirable.
This project, funded by the i-NutriLife Diet and Health Open Research Innovation Hub, provides an opportunity to lead a systematic review on the handling and physiological effects of oral butyrate.
The successful candidate can expect a collegial environment with mentoring and career development support from the PI. Interviews for shortlisted candidates are likely to be held in June/July 2025 with the successful candidate starting as soon as possible after that date.

The job title upon appointment will be "Research Fellow"
Applications will be considered from candidates who are working towards or nearing completion of a relevant PhD qualification. The title of Research Fellow will be applied upon completion of PhD. Prior to the qualification being awarded the title of Senior Research Assistant will be given.
£36,130 to £39,355 per annum
