Applications are invited for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Postdoctoral Research Associate in tropical seagrass systems. The successful candidate will work with Dr Holly East as part of the project ‘Seagrass bright spots and their potential to mitigate climate change’. The project is funded by the Leverhulme Trust and aims to understand the carbon storage capacity of seagrass meadows in the Maldives Archipelago.
Project objectives are: (i) to determine contemporary and temporal changes in seagrass sediment carbon stocks and associated carbon dioxide emissions (offsets or increases); and (ii) to analyze the relationships between shifts in seagrass areal extent and nutrient loading.
