Job summary

Remedy Education is recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a Post-16 provision in Beckton. You will support students with severe ASD and complex SEN in a specialist setting, providing 1:1 and small-group assistance while promoting communication and independence.

The role involves managing challenging behaviour and supporting personal care, working with a dedicated team in a demanding but rewarding environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience with complex SEN is essential.
• Experience in SEN schools, specialist colleges, residential SEN settings or disability support work.
• Confident managing challenging behaviour and providing personal care.
• Patient, energetic, reliable and able to work independently.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to Post-16 students with complex SEN.
• Assist with intimate personal care, including toileting and changing.
• Encourage communication, independence and life skills.
• Work closely with teachers and other support staff.
