Job summary

Remedy Education are recruiting for a specialist Post-16 SEN provision in Beckton, supporting young people with severe autism (ASD), severe learning difficulties, non-verbal communication needs and physically challenging behaviour.

We are looking for confident, resilient and proactive individuals with experience supporting young people with complex special educational needs, to work full-time delivering 1:1 support and liaising with specialist teaching staff.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with complex SEN is essential.
• Background in SEN schools, specialist colleges, residential SEN care or disability support work.
• Calm under pressure; confident managing behaviours that challenge.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Support students aged 16+ with severe ASD and complex needs.
• Manage physically challenging behaviour using de-escalation techniques.
• Provide intimate personal care, including toileting and changing.
• Support non-verbal communication, emotional regulation and independence.
• Deliver 1:1 support and work alongside specialist teaching staff.
