Job summary

Nurturing Growth and Compassionate care Ltd in Manchester is seeking a dedicated Post-16 Support Worker to help young people aged 16 and over reach personal, educational, and employment goals. You will deliver tailored one-to-one and group support, build employability skills, and encourage independence within a supportive, multi-disciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people aged 16–25 and safeguarding principles.
• Knowledge of FE pathways, apprenticeships and supported internships.
• Understanding SEND and transition planning concepts.
• Relevant qualification in Health and Social Care, Youth Work or related field.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities

• Build positive, professional relationships with young people and families.
• Provide 1:1 and group support tailored to individual needs.
• Help access education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities.
• Develop independent living skills such as budgeting, cooking, and appointments.
• Support goal setting, action planning and personal development.
• Promote wellbeing, resilience and self-confidence.
• Advocate for young people and represent their views.
• Liaise with colleges, employers, social workers and healthcare professionals.
• Monitor progress, review plans and maintain records.
• Safeguard young people and report concerns as required.
• Promote equality, diversity, inclusion and person-centred practice.
