Job summary

Northumberland Virtual School is seeking an Education Support Officer to work with post 16 care-experienced young people not in education, employment or training (NEET), and a smaller caseload in EET. You will help them access education, training and employment opportunities, and collaborate with designated teachers.

The role includes lone working in the community and at home, developing Personal Education Plans within statutory timescales, and representing the Virtual School at multi-agency

Qualifications

• Proactive, forward-thinking approach and ability to build relationships with young people.

Responsibilities

• Work with post 16 care experienced young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) to progress into EET.
• Support young people in EET and with designated teachers to ensure continued engagement and progress.
• Create high-quality Personal Education Plans (PEPs) for 16-17 year olds within statutory timescales to support a return to EET.
• Represent the Virtual School at multi-agency meetings as required.
• Lone-working with young people in the community and at home to remove barriers to education and training.
