Job summary

Northumberland County Council is recruiting an Education Support Officer to join the Virtual School Post 16 Pathways Team in Morpeth. You will work with a cohort of post 16 care-experienced young people who are NEET and support their progression into education, training and employment (EET).

Qualifications

• Experience building relationships with young people and working in challenging, sensitive settings.
• Ability to work independently and in the community and manage a caseload.

Responsibilities

• Work with post-16 care-experienced young people not in education, employment or training (NEET) to progress into education, training and employment (EET).
• Create high-quality Personal Education Plans (PEPs) for 16–17 year olds within statutory timescales.
• Represent the Virtual School at multi-agency meetings and liaise with care teams to support placement stability and progression.
