Job summary

Durham County Council is expanding its Positive Behavioural Support Team in County Durham, with a part-time 28-hour-per-week role based at Barnard Castle. You will support young people and adults with learning disabilities and complex behaviours in a specialist day service, implementing behaviour support plans and contributing to a safe, empowering environment.

We seek candidates with care or support experience, patience, empathy, and an understanding of challenging behaviours.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or support (professional or personal).
• Patience, empathy and understanding of behaviours that challenge.
• DBS Enhanced Disclosure required.
• 4 GCSEs (A-C) or NVQ/Diploma Level 2 (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Implement positive behaviour support plans.
• Manage behaviours effectively in a safe, empowering environment.
• Act as a role model and promote independence and informed choice.
