Job summary

Durham County Council is expanding its Positive Behavioural Support Team in County Durham and currently has a part-time, 28-hour-per-week role at our Barnard Castle base. You will work in a specialist day service supporting young people and adults with learning disabilities and complex behaviours, implementing support plans and promoting independence.

We offer induction, ongoing training, DBS checks, and a generous leave entitlement with flexible working where applicable.

Qualifications

• Experience in care or support.
• Patience, empathy and understanding of behaviours that challenge.
• GCSEs or NVQ/Diploma Level 2 (or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Support young people and adults with learning disabilities.
• Assist in implementing positive behaviour support plans and manage behaviours.
• Create a safe, empowering environment and promote independence.
